Finding the right home for your loved one is an important decision!
Residential Group Homes Residential homes with live-in caregivers. Can have
up to 10 Residents per home. There will be more
attention and one on one care for the Resident.
In addition this setting is more of a 'Home-Like'
atmosphere. Besides the care your loved-one
will receive, it includes all meals, snacks, laundry,
medication management. Most Homes provide a
Primary Care Physician that comes to the Home. If
needed you can also avail yourself of Physical
Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational
Assisted Living Communities Large Communities with private and semi-private
rooms. Small apartment like rooms with the
atmosphere being similar to a nursing home.
Assistance with Activities of Daily Living
(ADLs) and medication management. Some provide
daily activities for the resident. Three meals a day are
usually provided along with the care needed.
Independent Living/Retirement Communities Small apartment like atmosphere in a multi-level
community. Usually two meals are provided and
you can choose between breakfast, lunch or
dinner. Little or no care & assistance
is provided although Home Care may be provided
on site. Most communities provide activities
and various outings throughout the community.
Skilled Nursing Facility Large facilities made up of private & semi-private
rooms. Doctors and nurses on staff 24 hours.
Alzheimers & Dementia Care Specializing in memory care.
Hospice This service goes where the patient is located; whether
at home or in a facility.
Day Care Facilities Facilities and Community Centers that provide meals,
showers and transportation.
